ON A SCALE FROM ONE TO TEN
I have been writing about ROL, how it started and who started it, and who makes up ROL today. I suggested that we were practically cloned, that most of us grew up in the same neighborhood, with similar parents and similar values. But then I started thinking about differences, and realized that there are many more differences than I initially assumed. From our earliest days, we exhibited different interests. Over the years, we moved in different directions, politically, professionally, recreationally, even religiously.
I thought it would be interesting to identify a wide variety of topics, establish a scale, and place ourselves on it. Like a survey. Some may measure values, interests, skills, traits. At random, here are different categories on which I will place myself, and then ask my friends to place themselves. It may be a good way to lose friends and create disputes, but I am willing to risk it. I used to say, “Everything in moderation” which would result in lots of 5’s, but that is not me politically.
So, on a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 is the least, which you least favor, which least describes you, to 5 which suggests neutrality, to 10 which you most favor, or most describes you, here goes:
POLITICAL
Liberal, Progressive 10
Gun control 10
Government Health Care 10
